Stanislaus County Mediation Center

The Stanislaus County Mediation Center (SCMC) offers free community and in-court mediation services.  SCMC also operates the Stanislaus County Small Claims Advisory service.

If you're dealing with a difficult problem or dispute, you should contact the Mediation Center first.  If telephone conciliation or mediation through the SCMC are successful, you'll save time and money, and you won't have to risk "losing your case" in court.

When you can't reach an acceptable settlement through mediation, you can contact the Small Claims Advisor for information about how to file, serve, prepare, and present your case in court.  The advisor can also explain some of the procedures for enforcing a judgment from the small claims court.
